So there was this little two-day comic book show in Richmond, Virginia this past weekend that TURNED OUT TO BE PHENOMENAL!

I have no idea HOW many people showed up but even at bigger shows, I don’t believe I have ever seen as many people in costumes as I did this weekend. This year’s VA Comic Con was held at one of the buildings adjacent to the Richmond International Speedway. Never got to take a look at the race track but the building we were in ended up being pretty great. A HUGE round of applause goes to Dan Nokes for doing tremendous amount of work organizing “indie island” and everyone from Painted Visions here in Woodbridge, VA to the everyone else that had a hand in organizing the event.

The cards you see in today’s filler was a little fun project between me and Beck Seashols. Beck wanted to do a sketch card exchange and asked me to draw her a Power Puff Wonder Woman with a couple of stipulations:

  1. There had to be a cat on the card
  2. I had to use some (or all) of her glitter pens on the card.

She asked me what I wanted her to draw and I just couldn’t resist the urge to see a Beck Seashols’ Taskmaster. I mean, who wouldn’t, right?

Oh… and as far as how MY card looks… well, as I said above, I TOTALLY blame all the glitter that’s on the card for really mucking up my iPohone camera’s focus abilities. I have asked Beck to send me a scan or photo of my card as soon as she can. Once she does, I’ll replace the crappy version in this filler with a much better quality one (I hope).

UPDATE:
Beck sent me a scan of the Wonder Woman Power Puff card I did for for on Monday afternoon. I have now replaced it and the original text under the card.

As far as the show goes, I will be posting all nine of the caricature sketch cards I did during the weekend. Unfortunately, I have very, very few photos of various cosplayers that showed up this weekend – and there were a LOT! The main reason was because I was so busy either selling various Minion and other mash-up prints, doing sketch cards or doing requests for sketch cover. This was an INCREDIBLY busy weekend for me so there was very little opportunity to walk around and take pictures of everyone. However, here are some of the best highlights I had this past weekend:

  1. Hanging with Dan Nokes and Bill Mckay again. It’s getting to be a habit people should just call us The Three Amigos!
  2. Seeing Amber Love again – it’s always great to see Amber, vamped up or not
  3. Seeing and hanging with Becky Seashols for one of her last convention appearances for a while
  4. Selling my Deadpool Mash-up Brigade sketch cover in less than 20 minutes on Saturday
  5. Selling my Harley Quinn #0 Power Puff mash-up sketch cover later in the day on Saturday
  6. Selling my Wolverine Minion sketch cover on Sunday
  7. Chilling with THE
