Being British…
Of course, you guys must know that since there’s a werewolf in “Being Human”, I’m pretty familiar with the ORIGINAL BBC TV show, having first learned about it from Entertainment Weekly and then finally getting BBC America when my wife and I switched to Fios.
I’m also aware that “Being Human” is being imported to the States and “Americanized” just like “The Office” and a bunch of other shows from years past have done. I don’t have a problem with that. Again, this happens from time to time and sometimes these imported shows become huge hits – although I must admit I never knew “Three’s Company” was originally a British show (learned that this week on Yahoo.com).
But Roy and I share a very similar disdain when we get in our cars, turn on the radio and hear a SyFy commercial advertising “Being Human” and then has the audacity to call itself the station of “ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING”. Yes, that actually happened to me earlier this week and when I heard that commercial, I instantly knew I would turn it into a strip.
So… SyFy’s nonsensical radio advertising is YOUR gain. Enjoy!
