Today’s strip was greatly inspired by a comment made by Papa Neslo from Monday’s strip. Those of you that have followed this strip for some time know that this isn’t all that unusual for me. One of the great things about having a comment section at the bottom of my blog is that it gives you – and me – the chance to interact with one another.

And from there, you never know where you all might inspire an idea that will appear in Capes & Babes – just becuase you chose to take the time and add a comment to the blog.

So, Papa Neslo, I thank you for today’s inspiration.

As far as the whole Kim Kardashian thing goes, I have a bunch of feelings about that whole situation… I don;t know if I’m all that shocked as much as other people seem to be though. In my mind, it seems “celebrities” tend to rush in to marriage simply because they can afford to. The can afford to have a quick courtship and then hire all the necessary people to put a huge. lavish wedding together in just a matter of weeks.

And, if it doesn’t work out – or, if they simply get bored, tired or feel like they’ve rushed in to things – they can afford just as easily to dissolve the marriage. There doesn’t seem to be any great financial sacrifice for getting married – or divorced – when you reach a certain economic threshold.

Maybe if there was, you wouldn’t see so many celebrity 73 day marriages.

But that’s just my opinion. As Dennis Miller used to say so often on Saturday Night Live, “I could be wrong…”
