I’ve said many times before that sometimes, with Capes & Babes, I like to experiment with story telling ideas or techniques. This is one such experiment that I hope comes out okay – but you have to wait until Friday before rendering final judgment for today’s strip is only part one. Part two features a guest strip by Christopher Otto that I am blending in to this story line. THAT’S the experimentation. Hope you guys end up liking the final result…

So this past weekend was Free Comic Book Day…

And I have heard from a lot of my comic book and webcartooning friends how much they enjoyed making personal appearances at their local comic book store. I was set to make my own appearance at Little Fish Comics but we all know how that turned out. And even though it sounds like all my friends had a great time – in fact, I DO KNOW they had a good time because I have enjoyed my own three Free Comic Book Days at Little Fish – I have to say, I really think I had the better weekend.

If you don’t believe me, I’m going to share with you some of the random scenes I took of my son and some of our Dale City Little League Challenger players during the Opening Ceremonies of this past Saturday’s Challengers Jamboree. I apologize in advance of the quality of the pictures. These were all shot with my phone as my camera ran out of batteries and it was a wonderfully sunny day. First up, my son, Tyler:

Tyler One

And some of our other terrific athletes enjoying the sun and opening ceremonies that day:

And then one more shot of the skydiver who landed in front of us on Saturday…

Yeah… sorry all my webcartooning pals, but I think I had the better weekend…
