Baltimore Comic Con ‘08…

[UPDATE! I have just finished uploading my Baltimore Comic Con 2008 pics to my Flickr account. If you would like to see them, go here!]

Whew! Man… what a completely awesome and incredibly tired weekend this was!
As you guys can tell, I’m a little behind in the posting of today’s strip so to make up for that, I added some extra color to the Capes & Babes gang. Hope you all like it.

For those new readers who purchased the first 96 strips in mini-comic format during the weekend, I hope you are enjoying and getting a kick out of the strips. I also hope you keep coming back – not only to read strips 97 – 134 but from 134 on as well. Again, to everyone that stopped by my table, thank you so much for talking to me and deciding on giving Capes & Babes a chance. And, if you like the strip, please feel free to pass the word on to others that you think might enjoy Capes as well.

One of the reasons why today’s strip is so late is because after the Con, I had invited the rest of the C4 gang to stay overnight at my house before they embarked on their trips back home. For those that haven’t followed my C4 Talkshoe link in my left-hand sidebar, C4 is a collection of web comic creators in the North America area that are trying to help each other out by cross-promoting each other’s comics and other projects at the various conventions we each attend every year. This is a great big experiment that we just started trying out and it’s the first convention that the four founding members were all able to attend at the same time. First, you have Lee Cherolis who drove in from Indianapolis with his friend Bob. Joe Combs is from Minnesota but was in the area vacationing with family so he made a day’s stop at the convention and shared a table with Lee. And then there was Topher who flew in from Long Beach, California. Topher wasn’t selling anything or had a table but constantly helped Lee, Joe and I out with anything we needed all during the weekend.

Then on Sunday night, Lee and Bob followed Topher and I back to my house – but not before I took all of them all on a scenic tour of the Potomac River and George Washington’s Plantation. Joe and his lovely wife met us at my place where my wife had a hot buffet of hot dogs, chill and burgers waiting for everyone.

Very rarely do you ever get a chance to sit down and have an enjoyable meal with a bunch of creative folks from all over the country. Finally, sometime way after midnight, Joe and his wife (did I mention how lovely she was?) said their good-byes, Lee and Bob crashed hard on our two sofas while Topher and my wife proceeded to talked each other’s ears off for another hour or so while yours truly TRIED extremely hard to stay awake and engaged in the conversation.

At 6:30am, Lee and Bob were on the road and headed home. And hour or so after that, I was driving Topher to Dulles International Airport and then heading into my day job.

Guys, it was an absolutely grand, enjoyable weekend. My wife and I are so happy you all got to share time with us and we were happy to have you. This Con will be one that will be extremely hard to ever forget!

THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS…

Capes & Babes will be at the Baltimore Comic Con from
September 27th (Saturday) and September 28th (Sunday).

I will be at table number 121. I don’t know exactly where that will be located in the Baltimore Convention Center yet as no map has been created for the table layout though. If we should be notified of one, I will post a link here to let you know where I’ll be. Otherwise, you’ll just have to look for my Capes & Babes banner.

Here is my new “Appearances” page with all my Comic Con details. First up, Baltimore Comic Con 2008.
