Capes-n-Babes

Well, this has been a while, hasn’t it?

This is actually a very big experiment on my part as well as the strip you are reading today was 100% digitally. What I mean by that is… in the past, every single Capes & Babes strip from the start was all hand drawn with traditional pen, ink and bristol board. The lettering was originally digital but after a few years, I made the switch to hand lettering all of my strips. When I did that, the only things that were created digitally were the borders and the colors.

But today, everything you see in the strip was done digitally. No trees or india ink were harmed in the creation of today’s strip.

And, in case you’re wondering, the program I used was Procreate on my iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil.

It took me a while to deal with the coloring as I had originally messed up my Procreate layers and had to do a lot of “fixing” but drawing, inking and – surprisingly – even lettering the strip in Procreate was pretty easy (and fast). The lettering and word balloons took some practice but for the first try, I think this came out pretty darn okay. What do you all think?
