As the second panel in the strip says, today’s strip was inspired by the suggestion made by Chris Ciancanelli. Thanks Chris! Much appreciated…

This past Saturday, I got the chance to attend the second annual Hayfield Comic Con. It was held at Hayfield High School in Fairfax, Virginia. Back in my high school days, my high school (Mt. Vernon) was a Hayfield High School rival and, during the summer, I actually played baseball with and against some friends who went to Hayfield during the school year.

But I digress…

The convention was organized by Scott Marley and cohorts after a successful Kickstarter campaign. This show was also significant for another reason… it was the first time my mother was able to come see what I do when I go to “all those convention shows”. It also was a chance for one of my sister-in-laws and her daughter to come see me as well as all of them live within easy driving distance of the high school. Of course I s=was too stupid to get a picture of all of us together. BUT, I did manage to snag an “official” convention t-shirt for me mom to prove that she is now no longer a “comic book convention virgin”. Thanks mom!

Here are a few pictures from the show…
