Okay folks… here it is! The return of Capes & Babes!

So, the first question might be why the long hiatus?
Well, that was never an intention of mine. After I had created my 1,000th strip back in September of 2014, I was only intending to take a two to three week break but then life decided it had other plans for me.
At the end of September, my full-time job situation changed drastically. Without getting into too many details (which would just bore you anyway), I am still employed at my current company but many people in our office have already left for greener (and more secure) pastures. Since October, I have been doing a wide variety of things in order to do the same. Some of that meant doing all of the following:

  1. Updating and creating a new, more professional and polished web portfolio site (www.csfgraphics.com)
  2. Updating and polishing my resume
  3. Networking and searching for new positions
  4. Scheduling interviews in person and over the phone
  5. Going to the rest of the conventions I had lined up between October and December
  6. Participating in the Webcomic Alliance podcast
  7. Writing my assigned Webcomic Alliance articles
  8. Completing a large volume of commissions that came my way from September to December

In between all of those things, there just hadn’t been any time to really devote to creating or working on Capes & Babes.

The new job search has been an interesting one thus far. I have had a couple of real good opportunities that never fully came to fruition after the interview process or circumstances ended up changing somewhere along the way. The good news, however, is that I have met some really great people, had some fantastic interviews and, even though I still get my share of rejection e-mails, I also get a lot of calls from recruiters as well.

This is a rather exciting time. I’m not exactly sure what the future holds for me – none of us ever are. As far as the comic strip goes, I have already built up a few weeks worth of strips and they all concern this particular storyline. After that, I have no idea what the status of the strip might be – especially if my job situation might change. But for those that have followed this strip for a long time, you know I will always be upfront with you here in this blog and, if things should change, you’ll know about it in this blog.

As for why the strip is in greyscale, I have been thinking that I am going to move the full colored strips to me Patreon site. I’m thinking of putting the colored strips in the $1-2 section of my Patreon site. You can check it out by clicking the link below:

In the coming weeks, I’ll talk a little bit about my experiences with going on such a long hiatus and then trying to get right back into creating the strip again. Much like taking a long extended break from exercising and then trying to jump back into the gym, it has actually been a little difficult getting back up to speed. And I’ll talk about all of that in the upcoming blog posts so stay tuned.
